Interviews Mexico
Interview 1:
I think that machismo is wrong, because both women and men have the same rights and we should respect each other equally and it is a complete lack of sanity that a man feels superior to a woman or that a man thinks he can hit a woman, because even though they believe that women are the weaker sex, it is not true that each gender has its advantages and disadvantages. With this we can help each other instead of being disrespectful, even if it were not so, there should not be violence or men towards men, women towards women or men towards women. In my family the gender roles are like the typical stereotype, my mother is a housewife and she takes charge of cooking, taking my brothers and me to school and keeping everything clean and my dad is the one who brings money to the house to be able to pay expenses and support the family.
Interview 2:
I really do not like to consider myself a feminist since I do not agree with some things that they say and fight for. I didn´t ask to work or to go to school for example. All my friends wnat to kill me for the way i fell about this but thats my opinion.
Machismo goes 100% against my principles not only as a woman but as a human being. I argue that women should not seek equality since not all of us have these skills as well as men, instead we should ask them to give us the same job opportunities, at home, at school, etc.
Interview 3:
This topic I tend to like a lot because I consider myself a feminist and although or believe it is difficult to break with stereotypes about gender roles such as for example that mothers have to stay at home taking care of their children instead of can go to work although many women nowadays work and not out of necessity but because they like for example my mom the truth my dad if he earns a lot of money but even so my mom decided to continue working in her own place.
Interview 4:
Machismo is a very strong issue because it has been passed down for generations, sometimes it is very marked in some men, for example in my uncle who does not let the girls do something that is not typical for girls to do. The truth sometimes that if makes me bad but we have alrady fought a lot and my mom and scolding me for making fights that not get anywhere.
